Welcome from our Designated Safeguarding Lead
At Ark Burlington Danes Academy, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, secure and supportive environment where children feel respected, listened to and confident to speak to a trusted adult if something is worrying them. Our staff receive regular safeguarding training and understand their responsibility to recognise, report and respond to concerns about a child's welfare.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Alice Vasey, who has overall responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the Academy. She is supported by our Operational Designated Safeguarding Leads, Marion Murphy and Antone Prince, who work closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to ensure concerns are identified and responded to appropriately.
Worried about a child?
If you are concerned that a child may be at risk of harm, is being harmed, or you have any other concern about a child's safety or wellbeing, please tell us as soon as possible. No concern is too small to share.
Please contact our Safeguarding Team at: BDA.Safeguarding@burlingtondanes.org
We take all safeguarding concerns seriously and will ensure that information shared with us is considered carefully and appropriate action is taken to support and protect the child.
For further information about our safeguarding responsibilities and procedures, please read our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy. The policy provides more detailed information about how Ark Burlington Danes Academy safeguards children and responds when concerns arise
Report a safeguarding concern
If you have a concern that a child or children are being harmed, are at risk of harm, or you receive a disclosure (intentionally or unintentionally), you must report it to us immediately, and we will take the appropriate next steps.
