We are working to keep Ark Burlington Danes as safe as possible.
You may have heard that testing for those without coronavirus symptoms is beginning across the country using new, quicker COVID-19 tests known as ‘lateral flow tests’. Along with the other protective measures we are taking, these tests will help staff and students to remain in school safely. Up to one third of people who have coronavirus experience no symptoms. By testing we will help to stop the virus spread and help to keep our school open as safely as possible. The test is voluntary, but we would encourage everyone to take it.
We will be testing all staff and secondary school age students who want to participate from their return to the school site, beginning w/c 8th March. To participate, parents/guardians must have completed a conent form on behalf of their child in advance of their return to school.
Once students have returned to class after their initial test the school will supervise two further tests over a two-week period. Students will then be provided with testing kits, which they will need to complete at home twice a week on a Monday and Thursday before coming to school. If your child tests positive with one of the home testing kits you should contact the school as soon as possible.
Please see below for a letter explaining the test in more detail, and to complete the consent form.
