A STEP BACK IN HISTORY: YEAR 8 VISIT CHARLES I EXHIBITION
On Tuesday 20th February thirty Year 8 students visited the Charles I: King and Collector exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts.
This was an opportunity to see a collection of art work which was reunited for the first time since Charles I's execution in 1649. The collection was very impressive, and students were given the chance to sketch their favourite portraits of the King and his family.
This was followed by a visit to some works of art which Charles I had acquired during his reign, featuring artists such as Anthony van Dyk and Titian.
Overall students enjoyed the experience to immerse themselves in this collection of early modern masterpieces.
