FROM CLASSROOM TO CAMPSITE: Y7 FIRST RESIDENTIAL TRIP
Last week, Year 7 students went on their first residential at BDA to the Ferny Croft Scout Centre in the New Forest.
Whilst they were there, the students learnt archery skills to build shelters, how to cook on a campfire, how to work as a team to build the highest crate tower and scale a massive climbing wall!
The students also learnt the value of spending time outdoors and engaging with nature, with Patrick in 7A even finding a robin’s nest with real bird eggs inside it!
All students showed exemplar behaviour and responsibility, helping the teachers prepare meals and putting up the tents as well as being courteous to their peers, and the activity leaders.
The final night culminated in an impressive Talent Show, curated by Ms Cabdi and involved dance routines, singing and a stand-up routine from Adam in 7U and Neon in 7B who did uncanny impersonations of both Ms Bridger during morning line-up! This was rounded off by a BBQ and roasting marshmallows by the campfire.
All students had a wonderful time, with some students trying to bribe Ms Bridger to let them stay longer…
