Burlington Danes Family Cycle Library

Tuesday 27 April 2021

The Burlington Danes Family Cycle Library is a PTA project which aims to help more parents and children to cycle to school and for leisure. The project lends a range of adult bikes, child bikes and seats to families for free for half term periods between April and October. This is supported by free one-to-one cycle training for adults provided by Bikeworks. The project also involves pairing new cycling families with existing cycling families to support cycling to school together, and a series of family cycle rides in the local area open to all. The project is open to families from Ark Burlington Danes Primary Academy and the wider community.

The PTA has received a £9,972 grant from Walking and Cycling Grants London to deliver the Burlington Danes Family Cycle Library project. Walking and Cycling Grants London is a programme funded by Transport for London in partnership with The London Marathon Charitable Trust. It offers funding of up to £10,000 over three years to community groups for projects that encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to walk and cycle safely.
