If there’s a better equipped academy in England we would like to see it. Since 2008 our green and spacious west London site has been transformed, with the addition of two state of the art teaching blocks and a third generation all-weather sports pitch. The Stanley Fink building was opened in 2008 and provides a first class learning space for English, maths and science, as well as a tutor base for our Key Stage 3 students. If you get the chance, you must come and see the atria at each end of the building - spacious, semi-circular halls with triple-height floor to ceiling windows. The atria have provided a wonderful backdrop to concerts, assemblies and the occasional detention. Our Dennis Potter building, for Performing Arts (Dennis Potter was a former student), opened in 2010 and boasts a 300-seat theatre, as well as drama suites, music rooms and a recording studio. The Potter block is also home to our sixth form students.

Our eleven acre site also provides plenty of outdoor space, including the biggest school playing field in central London, a rubber-crumb Astroturf sports pitch and purpose built netball and tennis courts. The all-weather table tennis and table football equipment has been in place for four years now, helping develop some serious talent along the way. The rapid ping and pong of balls is a standard feature of break times at BDA, while staff and students often engage in friendly after-school rivalries across the nets.

Our 1930s art deco listed Burlington building provides a home for our school restaurant, The Strand, and all-day café, Utopia.
