Thank you for your interest in our wonderful school in the heart of White City. We hope our website reflects just how good Ark BDA is and that you find the information you need.
Ark Burlington Danes Academy proves that great schools can do more than achieve excellent grades; they build and enrich both individual lives and the local community.
We are both a ‘comprehensive grammar’ all-through school and a Christian community, backed by Ark. We aim to prepare our pupils for university and a career of their choice.
Every pupil matters. Every lesson counts. We are the beginning of lifelong learning. Every teacher is committed to ‘no excuses’: no matter your background, circumstances or ability you will succeed. Expectations are high and we will not give up on any child. Staff work hard. Much of the teaching I observe around the school in both the primary and the secondary phase is inspirational.
‘What does great look like?’ is a key lever in our ongoing improvement.
Our agreed expectations are that pupils are formal, scholarly and courteous. Trips, sports and competitions are actively encouraged, enabling both cultural enrichment and creativity to flourish.
There is so much to tell you about our school but the best way to learn more about our many attributes is to come and see for yourself why ArkBDA is such a great place for your child to be educated. We are always willing to receive visitors by appointment if you wish to see the school in action. We look forward to welcoming you.
Burlington Danes Academy is a Church of England school which has been educating London's children for over 300 years. It was originally two separate schools - Burlington School for Girls founded on Christmas Day 1699 and St Clement Danes, founded in 1862 - both of which were situated in Westminster. St Clement Danes moved to Du Cane Road in 1928, while Burlington school for Girls took over our magnificent Art Deco building in 1937. Almost 40 years later, in 1976, the two schools merged to create Burlington Danes Church of England School on our spacious 10 acre site.
A new chapter in our history began in September 2006 when we opened as an academy, sponsored by ARK Schools.
