Secondary School Entrance Changes
From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.
All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.
The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.
BDA's Cultural Capital
Following the great success of last year’s Cultural Capital trips, we decided to once again take the whole of KS3 out of school for two days exploring the wonders of London.
On Monday and Tuesday this week, before the Cross Curricular Project got underway, students split into groups and headed off on coaches to take in some of the capital’s most iconic cultural sights.
Students enjoyed visits to St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tate Modern, the beautiful Kew Gardens, Barnes Wetland Centre, the Tower of London, the British Museum, the Royal Observatory, the Churchill Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Gallery, the Museum of London, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.
In addition to filling in worksheets, students have been challenged to produce essays about one of the two destinations they visited. The prize for the winning essays from each year group will be an unforgettable tour of Big Ben, plus afternoon tea at the House of Lords.
We were all very impressed with the enthusiasm and exceptional behaviour on show throughout the two days. Thanks for making the most of this amazing opportunity to learn more about our great city.
