Secondary School Entrance Changes

From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.

All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.

The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.

Jack Petchey Table Tennis Competition

BDA’s high-achieving table tennis team participated in the Jack Petchey London Schools Individual Finals at East London University last weekend, securing a typically impressive set of results.

Eman Buanani won her group in the U13s competition, but lost narrowly in the quarter finals to the eventual winner. Rikki Burkett, competing in the same event, also won her group but went on to lose in the quarter finals.

Demi Reid, playing in the U16s age range, lost before the knockout stage but won the consolation tournament with an emphatic 3-0 victory in the final.

Cacherel Mirjah had an exceptional day, winning his group to secure a semi-final matchup with James Smith, who is ranked number 2 in England at U13s level. The young BDA star narrowly lost the very close encounter, finishing third overall.

“Cacherel is looking to be a serious contender against the best players of his age for future tournaments,” said Coach Henry. “Overall it was a good performance from the players last weekend.”
