Secondary School Entrance Changes

From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.

All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.

The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.

Ark Burlington Dane Students celebrate strong results

Students at Ark Burlington Danes Academy are celebrating another year of strong results.

In GCSEs, 59% of students achieved 5 A*-Cs including English and Maths. English results were particularly strong, with 83% of students getting a grade of A*-C in that subject.  The school also rates high in Attainment 8 and Progress 8 measures, which from next year will represent the new benchmark score for Key Stage 4.

Sixth Form Results this year are very strong, The picture looks very good: we are at 57% A* – B , a high percentage, even more so given that we do not share the high entry requirements of neighbouring schools. The majority of our pupils in Year 13 (89%) obtained A* – C grades which augurs well for the quality of teaching and subject understanding by our staff.  We are immensely proud that we have one Oxford student, one going to Harvard and two medics.
