Secondary School Entrance Changes

From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.

All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.

The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.

BDA Shakespeare Week

Ms Grainger: It's been 450 years since the birth of one of the most celebrated British writers of all time. During our Shakespeare Week at BDA, we've been exploring our own and others’ opinions of Shakespeare by investigating suspicious goings on with various characters in the library and creating our very own neologisms - just like he did!

Some particularly interesting new words were “conaffle” meaning very confused from 9B; “Blop” to ask someone how their day is going from 7N and 8L’s word “verangry” to express especially strong annoyance. I hope to be hearing lots of our new vocabulary around the school.

It's brilliant to see how enthusiastic both staff and students are when taking on such a challenging topic. Will you be booking a trip to the Globe for the new season?
