Girls' Football on the Rise

BDA's high-flying girls' football team took part in a tournament hosted by Fulham FC on Wednesday.

Coming up against some very strong opposition, the girls played a total of four matches, winning two, drawing one and losing the other. Despite finishing top of their group with seven points, they did not advance to the semi-finals due to goal difference.

But rest assured this will not knock the confidence of these fantastic young players. There were plenty of positives to take away from the competition: Hannah Buckley Smith scored two excellent goals – securing BDA’s player of the tournament in the process – both Hayley and Amanda defended heroically, and Eman performed consistently well.

Mr Clingham said: “The girls played really well, they were all extremely well behaved and represented the school in an outstanding manner. They were a bit disappointed but they have the last game of the QPR League on Tuesday and then the semi finals of the school playoffs to look forward to.”

Good luck – we can’t wait to hear the results!
