Secondary School Entrance Changes
From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.
All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.
The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.
The All Blacks Train at BDA
Rugby union’s most feared national side made a surprise appearance on BDA’s astroturf this Tuesday in preparation for their weekend’s game against England. The All Blacks enjoyed the facilities so much that they returned on Thursday and Friday to continue training.
With a small crowd gathered at the gates of the all-weather sports pitch, eagerly anticipating the world champions’ arrival, an enormous tour bus pulled in and McCaw, Carter, Nonu and co, some of the sport’s greatest ever players, emerged from the coach.
While Dame Sally spoke with the management team, a few of us wandered over to catch a glimpse of the masters at work but were sent away for fear of leaked information reaching the English camp (I assume). Not before we’d managed to snap a few photos, though.
Later, the rugby giants were kind enough to pose for pictures with our very own budding stars of the game. Who knows, in a few years time we could be cheering on an ex-BDA pupil against the next crop of New Zealand talent.
Tune in on Saturday to see how the English team fare against arguably the best team ever. Sadly we were not treated to a rendition of the haka.
