Entrepreneurs Offer Advice
BDA’s 6th Form Enterprise Society got underway with a bang this week. The Dennis Potter Theatre played host to four leading entrepreneurs speaking about the ins and outs of a life in business.
Students from all year groups came together to hear the wise and inspiring words of the group of professionals, comprising: Nick Michaelson of Silver Fox; Panni Morshedi of Wonga.com; Kate Hammer of Kiln; and Brynne Herbert of Move.
Mr Michaelson, a charismatic speaker, engaged the audience with valuable advice conducive to success both in business and in life: “Reflect on your own performance; be responsible for yourself; manage your expectations and the expectations of those around you,” he said.
Following the talks, during which students heard about the entrepreneurs’ collective drive to solve life’s problems and earn a wholesome living in the process, the floor was opened to questions.
Asked about what inspires her, Mrs Herbert, whose business helps people move from country to country, explained: “There’s nothing more exciting than the feeling that you can change the world.”
Well done to all who attended: the behaviour was exceptional and the questions asked were interesting and well considered. We’re sure you’ll make the most of the advice on your way to becoming our next generation of innovators.
