Secondary School Entrance Changes

From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.

All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.

The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.

Lord Winston Visits BDA

Television presenter and IVF pioneer Lord Robert Winston dropped in on some science and maths classes at BDA this week, before giving a very interesting talk to a select group of students in the Dennis Potter Theatre.

The eminent professor, one of the world's most respected medical academics and researchers of the human reproductive system, lays claim to over 300 scientific publications and has presented several TV series, including: Superhuman, The Secret Life of Twins, Child of Our Time, Human Instinct and the BAFTA award winning The Human Body.

As well as delivering a fascinating lecture about how life begins, fertility and genetics, Lord Winston spoke with students about the inspiration he has found in society’s young population.

“You are our future. You are the most important people in our society,” he said.
