Secondary School Entrance Changes
From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.
All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.
The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.
One of our main objectives at the academy is to ensure that every student has a platform to express themselves about topics relating to daily life at school.
Each week, a member from the student leader team will be chosen to represent their peers and highlight any news that needs to be brought to attention.
This week, deputy Head Boy, Bashir Hassan of 11B, had this to say: “ Welcome back to school everyone! Hope your summer holiday was full of relaxation and fun. Now we're all back for the new academic year the expectations of us has increased yet again. The GCSE results last year were a fantastic 80% 5A*-C and this year it is forecasted to reach 85%. The A-level results were also amazing with 100% pass rate which is absolutely fantastic. Sadly Dame Sally Coates has left us to work elsewhere but a new Ribton era has begun. I hope that this year will be full of hard work and excellent results from year 7 up to year 13.”
