Secondary School Entrance Changes

From Monday 14th January our entrance on Wood Lane will be open to students only until 8:55am. Students will also leave via this entrance as usual at the end of the school day. Any students arriving after 8.55am will have to enter via the Du Cane Road entrance and register at the all-through reception, which is located in the Primary. They will then be escorted to their lessons.

All visitors, parents and guests will arrive and leave via the Du Cane Raod entrance, at all times and also check in to the all-through reception.

The all-through reception is reached by following the pavement around to the left and entering the primary building.

TABLE TENNIS STARS: AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

We are really pleased to announce that  the BDA Under 16s  Girls table team were the runners up in the national schools finals at Hinckley Leisure Centre, Leicestershire.

There were 4 teams remaining after four legs of qualifying games starting from the Borough Championships, to the West London Championships, to the London School Finals, the Zone finals, and finally the National Schools Finals which took place last weekend.

The actual event was really exciting and the first match was very close against West Kirby Grammar School, which saw us drawing 4-4, but with BDA winning by 3 games difference.

Our next match was against Okehamton Community College and the score was 5-3 in  BDA’s favour.

The last match of the event was against last years champions, which proved to be a very difficult match, taking into account the fact that the opposing  team’s 2 best  players have been playing since primary school and our players only started the sport in Year 7 or 8. The final score was 7-1 in favour of Lancaster Girls Grammar School.

A very proud Coach Medellin said:

“I am really proud of our Girls because they gave as much they could but the opposition team in the last match unfortunately out-played us. We have high hopes for next year and we hope that with a little hard work we can come out on top!

I would like to give the girls a massive congratulations as I am very proud of them.  They played really well through all stages of the competition.

I would also like to thank those teachers that were very supportive in the girls achievement.”

This has been an extraordinary result for our table tennis, and we are sure it won’t be too long of a wait until we bring the trophy home!
