Ark farm visits Ark Burlington Danes Primary Academy
Goats, geese, ducks, sheep and a donkey visited our Reception pupils to help them learn about living things.
The animals were visiting as part of the Ark Farm, an independent educational travelling farm which visits schools and gives pupils the chance to interact with farm animals first-hand.
Pupil Makeda Derege, 5, said: “I liked seeing the ducks and hearing how they talked to each other.
“I learned that you need to have a quiet voice around the animals.”
Lisa Crispin, Headteacher at Ark Burlington Danes Primary Academy, said: “At Ark Burlington Danes Primary Academy, we believe in encouraging learning through exploration. This term, we’ve been learning about life and growth cycles and giving our pupils the chance to feed and interact with farm animals was a great way to foster an understanding of those themes.
“Since opening in September, we’ve established a welcoming, safe and happy environment at the school – one we are looking forward to welcoming our new pupils and parents to in September.”
