Expedition Phase of Bronze DofE Award

Congratulations to the 52 adventurous year 10 students who spent the first weekend of half term completing the expedition phase of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

The group departed from school early on the Saturday morning and set about a 12km hike through Ashdown Forest in East Sussex. Despite some appalling weather on the first day, the students remained positive and kept one another’s spirits high. Staff and instructors were very impressed with their attitudes and the camp craft on show on Saturday evening.

The sun turned up on Sunday for the second leg ofthe challenge and saw the hikers through to the end of a very successful weekend. Well done everyone!

A quick reminder for those involved: Please remember to collect your signatures for volunteering, skills and sports – you must start uploading them to the DofE website soon.
